DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Transfer of jurisdiction agreement numbers 90‑TJ‑009‑14
and 90‑TJ‑010‑14 between the Iowa Department of
Transportation, Carroll County and the City of Breda,
transferred Iowa
217 to local jurisdiction on December 31, 1989. The present description of Iowa 217 should be
deleted to reflect this change.
Iowa 217 begins in Breda and travels east to
junction with US 71.
PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended to approve deleting the description of
Iowa 217 and its extension in Carroll County from the primary road system.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 217 in Carroll
County should be deleted,
and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary
Road System.
Iowa 217 begins at Breda and travels in an easterly direction terminating at
the junction US 71, approximately 7 miles north of Carroll, Iowa.
PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:
Locate Iowa 217 and its
extension in Carroll
County as follows:
Breda:
Beginning on Main Street just
east of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad; thence easterly to the east
corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.
Beginning on
the east corporation line of the City of Breda
connecting with an unnamed street; thence east following substantially the
section line of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15 and 14‑T85N‑R36W to a point
on the NE Corner of said Section 14 (junction US 71).
NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department
of Transportation approve the location of Iowa
217 in Carroll County, Iowa.
